Other Bands (former and current): Several bands. One of the best experiences was the band 18Rabbit. This was the band of Martijn Stienstra, a talented songwriter from The Hague, with own pop/rock numbers with a slight touch of Sympho. Catchy songs, airplay - we were in the Buzz popmusic final on Dutch radio in 2001 - and we were even on local television. Look and listen here and here.
Favourite Marillion album
(Fish era):
Misplaced Childhood is, for me, one of the best albums ever made. The Thieving Magpie version because I don’t like the production of the normal CD.
Least Favourite album
(Fish era):
Fugazi. A few numbers are brilliant, but not all of them.
Favourite Marillion album
(h era):
Afraid of Sunlight and Marbles end up in joint first place.
Least Favourite album
(h era):
I don't know all of them but Holidays in Eden is, for me, a bit too much of a pop album.
Top 3 Marillion
songs ever:
Difficult choice - I want to choose four at least!
  • Blind Curve
  • Script for a Jester's Tear
  • Sugar Mice
  • Warm Wet Circles
What do Marillion mean to me?:

I got 'infected' with the Symforock virus at a young age and when I heard the concept album Misplaced Childhood I really got into Marillion. As a musician I believe it is special that all musicians in a band are very good AND have an equal part in the whole music. Also as a guitar player I think that Steve Rothery is an excellent guitar player with his own sound and style. Nearly all his solos are a story within the story of the song. While most guitar solos can be played differently without a big impact on the song it is different with SR's solos!!
